Trenton Sparks and his hog from Sparks Farm garnered the grand champion award for market hog born and raised in Hardin County on Friday at the fair. Trenton is a member of the Mount Victory Champs and is the son of Tyler and Tiffany Sparks.

Kamryn Dye, daughter of Jody and Shanda Dye, came away with the reserve grand champion market hog born and raised in Hardin County following Friday’s competition. Kamryn’s hog was from Wilson Farm. She is a member of the Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes.

Rabbit royalty

Jordan Furer (left) and Erin Boutwell were named rabbit king and queen at the fair’s rabbit show Wednesday. Jordan is the son of Richard and Sheryl Furer and is a member of the Country Timers 4-H club. Erin is a member of the Ada Barnyard Farmers and is the daughter of Terry and Dana Boutwell.

Elisha Lowery captured the grand championship lamb in the born and raised contest Thursday at the show arena. She is a member of the Cessna Minutemen and the daughter of Mark Lowery and Susan Lowery. Holding her awards is Lamb and Wool Queen Sarah Heilman.

Alexis Amburgey was named the top senior showman of the 2012 Hardin County Fair rabbit show. She is a member of the Ada Barnyard Farmers and the daughter of John and Tracy Amburgey.

Michelle Shepherd, New Bloomington, won a grand championship in leather working when she shared her belt and holster in the arts and craft competition.
