Badges awarded to Boy Scout Troop 124 at Court of Honor
On Monday, June 18 the boys from Boy Scout Troop 124 of Ada held their Court of Honor. Luke Butterfield served as Master of Ceremonies as Ben Bowers led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Scout Oath.
Jacob Butterfield then told the crowd about the Spring Camporee that four of the scouts attended in Findlay. Micheal Savino spoke about his Eagle Ceremony held just the weekend before and summed up his project. Korwin Kurtz explained to the guests that, as a troop, they have been working on their Scouting Heritage Merit Badge and Woodcarving Merit Badge.
Christian Rostofer told the parents about the placement of the American Flags that the troop participated in before Memorial Day to honor Veterans in Woodlawn Cemetery. Luke then shared about their experience they had on a field trip to the Toy and Train Museum in Medina earlier this year. Jacob then talked about the 2 ten mile hikes that some of the scouts participated in while working on their Hiking Merit Badge.
Scoutmaster Tom Lehman made a few announcements regarding camp next week and other upcoming events. He then awarded the boys with badges earned this quarter. Ben earned his Scouting for Food (SFF) badge and Geology Merit Badge. Luke and Jacob earned their SFF badge. Korwin and Jacob earned their Scout Rank and Micheal earned his Bronze Palm award. The Boy Scouts meet each Monday 6-7:30 p.m. at the Scout Cabin in the southeast corner of the Ada Park.
