Alger class of 1962 reunites

50th reunion

Attending the 50th reunion of the Alger High School class of 1962 were (from left, front) Janet Smith Thom of Dayton, Deanna Miller Smith of Lima, Joyce Compton Shirk of Indian Lake, Donna Rose Pfister of Leipsic; (second row) Emit Manns of Ada, Larry and Charlotte Cook Pratt of Alger, Evelyn Downey Prater of Harrod, Kenny Smith of Casa Grande, Ariz., Betty Moore Cognion of Lima; (back) Barb England Clemons Johnson of Keyser, W.Va., Dan Miller of Alger, Jim Smelser of Columbus Grove and Roger Guyton of Alger. Others in attendance but not pictured were Don Hover of Spring Hill, Tenn., David Trusty of Alger, Dr. Kay Lyle Douglas of Columbus and Mike Cramer of Bryan.

The Alger High School class of 1962 met at the Maysville Methodist Church on June 9 to celebrate their 50th  anniversary.  They were the largest class to graduate from Alger with a total of 39 students.
A carry-in lunch was enjoyed by all as well as pictures and stories of the past and present.  Some have great grandchildren.  Their vocations in life have been many and they have traveled extensively, including: France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Nassau, The Netherlands, Belize, Hawaii, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, USSR, South America, England, Holland, Guatemala, Philippians, Russia, Greece,  Santa Domingo, Portugal, Sweden,  Saint Thomas,  Norway, North of the Artic Circle, South of the Equator, Holland: Zaire, Kenya and Zambia, Africa.
