Changes are taking place in the Open Class Home Economics Department for the 2014 Hardin County Fair.
Mr. and Mrs. Funny Bunny will now be held in the Open Class Youth Division. Please check the rules and regulations below for these classes since they have changed.
YOUTH EXHIBIT – OPEN CLASS
1. Entry fee 25 cents ($.25)
2. All entries to be at fairgrounds on Monday, September 1, 2014, between 1 and 6 p.m. only.
3. Open to Hardin Co. Youth up to and through Senior Year in High School.
4. Entries must fit on a 14″ x 14″ pizza box lid; larger items will not be accepted.
5. Same rules apply as in open class entries.
6. Judges decision is final.
7. Youth judging will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014
We have changed our starting times for judging to the following:
Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014.
Culinary judging will start at 8:30 a.m.
New class in Culinary – Other breads division – donuts
Yeast Division – donuts
Canned Foods will follow immediately after the culinary items are judged.
New classes for canned foods are peach, blackberry and cherry jam.
Youth judging will start at 4:30 p.m.
New classes for Youth – Mr. & Mrs. Funny Bunny (See rules above)
5 and under day of show
6 – 8 day of show
9 – 19 day of show
Wine judging will start at 7 p.m.
A new class has been added to the wine judging.
Class D – Judged on personal/decorative label only, not content.

Cultural Arts will start at 8:30 a.m.
New classes for the Cultural Arts department are:
Quilt Division – Quilted Holiday Item.
Crochet Division – Crocheted Hat, Crocheted Jewelry
Hand Embroidery Division – Embroidery embellishment on clothing and Embroidery embellishment on tote or purse.
Knitting division – Knitted doll clothes on doll, Knitted Christmas Stocking and Knitted Dish Cloth.
Household and Miscellance Division –
Recycled Household item, Not Jeans. List items used
Recycled Item made from old Jeans
Gift from the kitchen, decorated in a jar
Gift from the kitchen, dry food mix in a jar, i.e. Cookie mix, soup, pasta
Pie Day on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, will remain the same as last year.
