Mason Ward holds the flower he made out of craft foam and an old CD during the Silly Saturday program at the Hardin County Family YMCA. Looking on are Corey Zimmerly with children Josiah and Elijah.
The last Silly Saturday of the season was held May 12 at the Hardin County Family YMCA. Eighteen children shared a great day with little siblings. The focus was on families, Mothers’ Day and Fathers’ Day.
The children filled out little sheets telling what they know about their mothers and fathers … such as how tall they are what they liked to eat and so on. Stories were What Mothers Can’t Do and What Fathers Can’t Do by Douglas Wood. They made a tool box for their daddies and a flower out of craft foam and old CDs for their mommies.
Fitness included Duck, Duck, Goose and riding scooters which is something little siblings have never done before. Swimming was the big thing though for the little ones. Some were quite excited and a few were a little frightened… but they all had fun!
