Fair board members hear reports

The Hardin County Agricultural Society met Saturday at the fair office with 20 board members and several guests present.
Chris Vermillion, Hardin County Tractor Pullers reported they have $2,100 in sponsorships for the Hardin County Fair Tractor Pull.
Mark Light, Hardin County Extension Coordinator informed the fair board they have new computer software and he brought levy signs to put out for the upcoming election.
Mark Badertscher, Hardin County Extension Educator handed out information on the PED virus.
Minutes of the last meeting, financial reports and bills to pay were reviewed and approved.
Committee reports were:
Executive committee – Howard Lyle, chairman
- Nothing to report.
Grounds committee – Jim Bidwell, chairman
- Motion was approved to put up a sign of donors for the new wash racks.
- Approved a motion to re-grade the pulling track and any other improvements that are need done.
- Motion was approved to accept a recommendation from the grounds committee to change the boat/camper storage rates to $7/linear ft. with a $100 minimum charge and starting in 2015 boats & campers will all be taken out for pick-up on the second Saturday of April and car storage rates will be $20/month with a $100 minimum.
- Next grounds committee meeting is Tuesday, April 15th at 7 p.m. in the fair office.
Camping committee – Craig Stump, chairman
- Nothing to report.
Entertainment committee – Mike Kleman, chairman
- Approved a motion to have the State Demolition Derby by 3D Promotions on Saturday, September 27.
Livestock committees:
- Nothing to report.
Rides & Concessions committee – Janie Seiler, chairman
- Receiving contracts and deposits.
Junior Fairboard – Nancy Rickenbacher, chairman
- Elected Junior Fairboard officers; President-Julia Naus, Vice President-Adam Wagner and Secretary-Sidney Albert.
- The concessions for consignment sale did well.
Other Committees:
The next 4th of July committee meeting will be on Wednesday, May 28 at 7   p.m.
- Consignment Sale was a success.
Old Business:
- Had good response for Day Sponsors.
New Business:
- Motion was approved to put a 1/2 page ad in the Hardin County Extension 100th Year Anniversary Special Edition.
- Next fairboard meeting will be May 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the fair office.
