The 11 a.m. luncheon was followed by a quick meeting. Marty Everhart read a beautiful poem that she had written. Leeth thanked Chr. Sharyn Mowrey and her committee Kathy Lundy, Marty Everhart, and Diane Orians for making the beautiful arrangements for the day. Charleen Wolfe, subbing for Sec. Harris, read the secretary’s report which was approved. Charlotte Leeth installed the following officers for the 2012-2014:
Co. Presidents – Martha Cramer and Charleen Wolfe
First Vice Presidnet – Ann Frisch
Second Vice President – Dorothy Blackburn and Norma Frederick
Secretary – Teresa Harris
Corresponding Secretary – Sandy Berry
Treasurer – Lorrene Roberts
Correspondence was sent from Delta Kappa Gamma to extend sympathy in the death of member Martha Harmon. Treasurer Roberts gave her report which was filed for audit. She also reminded members that she should receive all bills by the closing of the books by June 30.
Charleen Wolfe and Donna Myers will be attending leadership training at one of the three sites: Wilmot, Kalida, or Washington Courthouse. It was voted to give $10 each for fuel costs for two of our members who will attend.
It was announced that Liz Snyder has applied for our club scholarship of $300. This was unanimously approved. Ann Frisch asked for 2013 program ideas from attendees since there is no planned June meeting. There will be an executive board meeting in June where the ideas can be decided.
A report of the Delta Kappa Gamma State Convention was given from attendees Dorothy Blackburn, Lori Paul, Norma Frederick and Past State President Donna Myers. President Lupton had also attended. Of the various highlights, the tour of Ohio’s Statehouse, the speakers, and the Necrology service were well worth being in attendance. Kappa Chapter also received 3 certificates of appreciation at the convention. It was also recommended to attend Ohio’s Statehouse Ghost Tours in October. Norma Frederick will investigate the possibility of a club adventure.
Lorrene Roberts and Liz Snyder won door prizes. It was voted to give a donation from Kappa Chapter to the Carey Newhard House Museum before adjourning and going to tour at the museum.
Kappa Chapter’s Executive Board will meet at the home of Ann Frisch to plan programs on June 7 at 11:30 a.m. Please RSVP Ann Frisch or Charleen Wolfe. Attendees are asked to bring a salad.
