The 2012 Ohio State Rabbit Breeders Association (OSRBA) Convention was held at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. On Sunday, May 6 Jordan Furer was one of over 30 Ohio youth who participated in the senior age youth competions that included breed identification, rabbit and cavy judging, achievement and royalty contests.
The Youth Awards Ceremony was held after the opening ceremonies. Jordan was crowned OSRBA Rabbit King and OSRBA Cavy King. He then was awarded first place in Average Size Rabbitry Management and first place in Senior Youth Achievement.
He was also recognized during the OSRBA Mini Convention as earning fourth place in the 2011 youth sweeps by the Ohio Thrianta Club.
Jordan, a freshman at Ridgemont, is the son of Richard and Sheryl Furer of Mount Victory. He is the grandson of Larry and Saundra Speirs of Kenton, Margo Furer of Mount Victory, Alan Furer of Marysville, the great grandson of Harley and Deon Furer of Mount Victory and Betty Christian of York Center.
Jordan is member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, Ohio Rabbit Breeders Association, Hardin County Rabbit Breeders, Lima Rabbit Breeders Association, Ohio Thrianta Club and the Country Timers 4-H Club.
