American Legion Post 259 in Forest has selected Riverdale High School juniors Adam Fox, Ben Book, Caleb Shultis, Seth Thomas and Tré Headington to participate in American Legion Buckeye Boys State.
The eight-day intensive education program on Ohio government for high school students will run June 10 to 17 on the campus of Bowling Green State University.
American Legion Buckeye Boys State is a program where each participant becomes a part of the operation of a local, county and state government.
At American Legion Buckeye Boys State, participants are exposed to the rights, privileges, duties and responsibilities of a franchised citizen. The training is objective and practical with a city, county and state government operated by the students elected to the various offices. Activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, law enforcement presentations, assemblies, a band and recreation. High school juniors are selected by local American Legion posts.
