Officers for the Hardin County Sons of Union Veterans for 2013 were installed by the Ohio commander, Fred Lynch, recently at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mount Victory. MOUNT VICTORY — Members of the Hardin County Chapter of the Sons of Union Soldiers met Dec. 17 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant with 17 members attending.
Those attending included: David A. Rish, Haggard, Michael P. Kasler, James C. Finch, Bradford W. Bailey, Stanford L. Deal, Wayne Vaughn, Dennis L. Koontz, Bradley E Harvey, Vern I. Woodruff III, Ronald Ivan Marvin Jr., Richard Eugene Willson, Robert Elliott Schutte, George Franklin Smith, George James Candler, Hal Edward Elsasser and John Thomas McBrayer.
New officers of the SUV were installed by Ohio Department Sons of Union Veterans Commander Fred Lynch, who attended the meeting with his wife, Barbaral. The 2013 officers include: David A. Rish, commander; Michael P. Kasler, senior vice commander; James C. Finch, junior vice commander; Bradford W. Bailey, secretary/treasurer; Stanford L. Deal, camp council; Dennis Koontz, camp council; Wayne Vaughn, camp council; Bradley E Harvey, chaplain; William L. Evans, graves registrations officer; Vern I. Woodruff III., patriotic instruction officer and Ronald Ivan Marvin Jr., reporter/scribe/guard.
Lynch spoke of General Order’s No. 3 which sets up a committee to account for and document all the Civil War Cannon in the State of Ohio.
Bradford W. Bailey, Secretary/Treasurer reminded members the annual dues are to be paid by Jan. 31 of each year according to club bylaws. They are $42 ($4 state, $15 local, and $23 national).
The next meeting date is for Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Veterans Hall on the first floor of the Hardin County Courthouse.
