The Dunkirk Daisy Troop 20646 competed in the Girl Scout Flag competition at the Ohio State Fair and placed third. This was their first time to compete. They did a traditional ceremony with the American flag and a creative ceremony where they made a flag. It was well done and they are looking forward to next years competition.
The Daisys also won the Outstanding Daisy Troop trophy for their service project “Pennies for Hunger.” They received first place for their Firehouse visit, Postcard exchange, the 100th celebration at the council in Lima and their Easter project at a nursing home. They received second place for their safety poster and The Promise and Law poster.
Emily Rose won second place for her Juliette Low poster and Honorable Mention for her cupcakes and her shoebox float.
Blaire Hipsher won second place for her art project and third place for her sun print.
Emma Martin won first place for her cupcakes and a participation ribbon for her pencil drawing.
Haylee Keckler won second place for her picture made from cookie boxes and a participation ribbon for her art project.
Kiersten Horn won Honorable mention for her cupcakes and third place for her cookies, a shoebox float and a handmade card.
Their leaders are Shirley Green and Sarah Rose.
