BELLE CENTER — Sue Robinson, a mother and grandmother who has adopted the highland village of Thomassin, Haiti, as an additional family, will be a guest speaker this weekend at Belle Center United Presbyterian Church.
Adopting 500 school children is a daunting job, so Robinson shares her passion with others. She first went to Haiti in 2001 and has returned 14 times.
Never dreaming of becoming involved in mission work, she first watched her husband, David, go to Haiti in 2000, just shaking her head. After his return and seeing the deep impact it had on him, she accompanied him in 2001 and 2002 … and she hasn’t missed a year since then.
Now her greatest joy is helping individuals and churches experience mission outreach in a vital way.
At 6 p.m. Saturday at the church, a Haitian meal will be served followed by Robinson’s message of “God’s Love Restoring Haiti.”
At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, she will speak on “Jesus Joyful People in Haiti.”
People are invited to attend both programs. The church is at 202 Walnut St., Belle Center. For additional information call the church office at 937-464-2695 or Pastor Jim Burton at 937-441-5138.
