Benjamin Logan FFA officers were recognized for their gold rating officer books at the State FFA Convention. They are Miranda Batton, treasurer; Danny Foulk, secretary and Katelyne Ackley, reporter.
On May 3-4, Benjamin Logan FFA had nine members receive their state degree, at this year’s State FFA Convention.
They are Katelyne Ackley, Emily Brill, Cory Leiter, Nick Melvin, Tyler Myers, Mickayla Ropp, Chelsea Shaffer and Brent Weiss.
To meet the requirements of the state degree, the member must be a junior, senior, or a high school graduate, must have an approved supervised agriculture experience program, must have at least one-year instruction in agriculture education, and be a dues paid member.
Members must be familiar with the state and national FFA constitutions and they must have assisted in the development of the program of activities for their chapter. They also must have completed at least 30 hours of home or community development projects, at least three activities that promote agriculture education and/or FFA, and in at least two different state sanctioned Career Development Events.
Members must demonstrate ten abilities of Parliamentary Procedure and must have presented a six-minute speech on an agricultural topic.
Two Benjamin Logan FFA officers were recognized for their gold rating officer books. Each officer had to meet all requirements that were required by the state. Danny Foulk had a gold rated Secretary book, Miranda Batton had a gold rated Treasurer book, and Katelyne Ackley had a gold rated reporter book. Additionally, Benjamin Logan FFA members were recognized for their donations to Children’s Hospital and Church World Services.
At the annual chapter banquet last month, members were recognized for their achievements. Seniors were awarded scholarships are: Chase Anspach, Colt Blair, Dennis Bleininger, Emily Brill, Sarah Crumm, Danny Foulk, JD Harvey, Cory Leiter, Cody Logan, Cody Logan, Luke Mathys, Nick Melvin, Mickayla Ropp, Kyle Rose, Kathleen Seeley, Wes Shepherd, Shawn Weber, Zak Wirick, and Ethan Zack.
Star awards were given to Jessica Skidmore and Tabitha Schumacher, who received the Star Greenhand award, JD Harvey received the Star in Agribusiness award, and Wes Shepherd received the Star Farmer award.
Honorary degree were presented to Dan and Lisa Foulk, (Benjamin Logan FFA parent), Spencer Reames, (supporter of the Benjamin Logan FFA), and Donnie and Connie Parrott, (co-owners of Parrott Implement).
