With the temperatures flirting with 100 degrees, the water spigots at the fairgrounds were a popular place to cool off while visitors waited for the annual fireworks display. Getting wet later in the evening was easier as nearly two inches of  rain canceled the annual fireworks show.

Veterans who served in Afghanistan or Iraq were honored during the Belle Center Fourth of July parade Wednesday. The veterans waved to the crowd in greetings along the parade route.
