Cort Everhart, son of Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart, is “apprehended” by the department’s K-9 Riley during a demonstration for the Hardin Northern Public Library’s summer reading program on Tuesday. Sheriff Everhart, Deputy Steve Beutler and Riley gave a presentation to 42 kids. Cort Everhart wore a bite protection vest for the demonstration. The Hardin Northern Library has a different program every week throughout the summer.
