There weren’t very many people who ventured out in Monday’s frigid conditions. Above, the temperature sign at Kenton Lube Express by mid-morning was already 6 below zero, on its way to a low of 13 below. A lone truck makes its way along snow-covered South Detroit Street in Kenton. Below, Lowell Murdoch is all bundled up as he uses a snowblower to clear the sidewalks in front of Schindewolf-Stout-Crates Funeral Home. Schools throughout the area were closed for a second consecutive day today, but most businesses were reopening. There is an end in sight to the cold with the mercury expected to rise to 20 on Wednesday, 32 on Thursday and into the 40s on the weekend.
