A crew from Crates Excavating began razing the old Hardin County Jail this morning. The jail was built in 1886 at the corner of Wayne and Carrol streets in Kenton. It was abandoned when the sheriff’s office move to its current location at the Jacob Parrott Safety Center in 2008. Discussion is underway to construct a playground and park on the lot created by the demolition.
