Doug Hankins throws a tarp over the grand finale fireworks display Wednesday evening at the fairgrounds as clouds and rain rolled in and caused the show’s postponement. High winds, hail and nearly two inches moved into the Kenton area at the time the display was scheduled. The fireworks show has been rescheduled for today at 10 p.m.

Tina Wyen (right) helps Lacey Murphy with her patriotic costume as the lineup was set to step off from the fairgrounds for the annual Fourth of July parade. The crowd watching the parade around the courthouse and return to the fairgrounds was sparse perhaps due to the roasting temperatures which reached 98 degrees Wednesday.
