Fair royalty to be crowned tonight

Kim Manns assists her daughter, Autumn as the two prepare Autumn’s entry in this week’s sheep show at the Hardin County Fair. The fair opened today with the annual hog competition in the show arena, with goats in the spotlight at the livestock tent. The crowning of the 2013 fair king and queen will take place in the grandstand at 7 p.m. today and will be followed by the annual high school band show.

The crowning of the Hardin County Fair King and Queen will highlight tonight’s activities at the fair.
Selection of the royalty will begin at 7 p.m. at the grandstand, followed by the High School Band Show.
Tuesday, Sept. 3
Veterans Day
3 p.m. – Homemakers Dish Day, Community Building.
3:30 p.m. – Junior Fair Beef Skillathon contest
4 p.m. – Youth Judging, Arts and Crafts Building
7 p.m. – Crowning of Junior Fair King and Queen, followed by High School Band Show, grandstand
10 p.m. – Exhibit buildings and rides close
Wednesday, Sept. 4
8 a.m. – Open Class Beef Show, arena
9 a.m. – Junior Fair Horse and Pony Show, horse show arena; Junior Fair Rabbit Show, rabbit show arena; Junior Beef Showmanship, arena; Cultural Arts judging, Arts and Crafts Building
10 a.m. – Exhibit buildings open
11 a.m. – Junior Fair Born and Raised in Hardin County Steer Show, arena; Pork Dish Day, Community Building
Noon – Rides open
1 p.m. – Homemakers Demonstrations, Community Building; Open Class Wool Show, arena
1:30 p.m. – Open Class and Junior Fair Sheep Breed Show, arena
2 p.m. – Junior Fair Dairy Show, arena
5 p.m. – Antique judging, Arts and Crafts Building
6 p.m. – Junior Fair Sheep Showmanship and Junior Fair Market Lamb Show, arena
6:30 p.m. – Homemakers Demonstration, Community Building
7 p.m. – Swing Choir Show and Society Singers, grandstand
10 p.m. – Exhibit buildings and rides close
