YMCA reaches goal of selling 250 passes for outdoor pool

Fundraiser items

YMCA Executive Director Sean Galvin and chair of the YMCA Corner Kick Soccer Complex Committee Nikki Haushalter stand with some of the items available at a silent auction at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 19 at the Kenton Elks during the “Wine, Laughs and Kicks” fundraiser for the complex. Items include an autographed Columbus Crew ball, four tickets to a Crew game and a family membership to the Y. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at the Y.

The Hardin County YMCA will be able to open the Kenton city swimming pool this summer.
Executive Director Sean Galvin reported that the Y reached its goal of selling 250 family pool passes on Friday morning. Selling the passes in advance provides the YMCA with funds to operate the outdoor pool.
This will mark the third year the YMCA will operate the pool for the city. The pool will open Memorial Day weekend.
Purchasing multiple passes this week were Rogers Nationwide Insurance, Haushalter family, Robinson Fin Machine, the Rotary Club and Cessna Transport.
“The YMCA would like to thank the countless number of organizations, businesses and individuals that supported the campaign,” Galvin said.
Passes can still be purchased for $99 until 4 p.m. today. After that passes are $135 for non YMCA members.
Applications for pool pass sponsorships will be available at the YMCA beginning Monday through May 16, he said.
