Kenton men arraigned in armed robbery of Jump ‘N Jim’s
Three Kenton men were arraigned on aggravated robbery charges Thursday afternoon in Hardin County Municipal Court.
Benjamin Howard, 9882 CR 95 and Nathaniel Rohrs and Jesse Fry, both of 680 W. Lima St., Apt. 2, all are charged in connection with the armed robbery of the Jump ‘N Jim’s convenience store in Kenton early Sunday morning.

Leadership grads honored
The Hardin Leadership program graduated its 16th class on Thursday night.

Polar Bears move into Final Four
Liz Schnelle drilled 19 kills and No. 8-ranked Ohio Northern defeated Williams (Mass.) 25-16, 25-14, 25-10 in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament quarterfinals Thursday night at Illinois Wesleyan's Shirk Center.
Ohio Northern advances to play No. 2 Emory (Ga.) in the semifinals at 8 p.m. today. The Eagles advanced with a 25-16, 16-25, 25-14, 25-20 victory over No. 23 Saint Benedict (Minn.) in a quarterfinal match earlier Thursday.
The Polar Bears will be making their first appearance in the Final Four since the squad finished as NCAA runners-up in 1989.

Kindell suits up for Bluffton soccer team
Kenton High School graduate Brandon Kindell recently finished his junior season for the Bluffton soccer team.
Kindell, a forward/midfielder, started in 16 of 17 games he played in for the Beavers this season.
The Beavers, who were 8-8-1, had their most victories since the 1994 squad went 8-10.

‘The Christmas Carol’ to be staged by Riverdale students

When it comes to the Christmas season, no tale is as well known as that of the old and bitter Ebenezer Scrooge. Students at Riverdale will bring his “Bah! Hambug!” view of Christmas and the classic story to life this weekend.
Riverdale will stage “The Christmas Carol” beginning at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a 3 p.m. showing on Sunday. Pre-sale tickets are on sale at the high school for $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens.....READ MORE

ONU’s Weininger, Schnelle named to All-America team
ADA — Ohio Northern’s Katie Weininger and Liz Schnelle have both been selected AVCA Division III First Team All-America as chosen by the AVCA Division III All-America Committee.
This is the first time that either volleyball player has been named First Team All-America. Schnelle was Third Team All-America last season and Weininger was Honorable Mention All-America.....READ MORE

Three adults, one juvenile arrested in Kenton robbery
Three adults and one juvenile from Hardin County were arrested Tuesday and charged with robbing a Kenton business.
Kenton Police Chief Vermillion confirmed today the adults arrested are Nathaniel Rohrer, 680 W. Lima St.; Ben Howard, 9882 CR 95 and Jesse Fry, 18076 Ohio 235, Roundhead. They are expected to be arraigned later this week....READ MORE
Ada group plans celebration to promote family activities
In hopes of promoting family time, a new community group is planning a Founder's Day celebration in May of 2009.
