Gormley Park in Forest was prepared for next week’s Tree Town Festival prior to being hit by a wind storm late Friday afternoon with winds reportedly reaching gusts of 80 miles per hour. At least 14 trees fell in the park alone and an estimated 100 trees blocked village streets and alleys, said Mayor Tom Seem, who has declared an emergency in the town. Seem is asking for assistance from village and county residents in clearing the debris from his village.

Cathy and Cami Lowery stand outside their home on Co. Rd. 175 after a wind storm ripped the roof from the structure. The pillars which were at the entrance of the home lay scattered in the yard. Each community in the county was impacted by Friday’s storm, which caused damages to property and left many people in the dark at dinner time.
