Alger EMS to sponsor training seminar

ALGER — Doug LaRue, EMS chief of the USV Alger Rescue Squad, announced the USV Alger Rescue Squad will be hosting its fourth annual Alger EMS Spring Update Seminar for all area EMS personnel.

The seminar will be held at USV Alger EMS at 207 E. Wagner Street in Alger on Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pre-registration is required to attend by emailing LaRue at dlarue45@yahoo.com.

Topics will include Pediatric Emergencies, Mass Casualty Scene Management, Diabetic Emergencies, Burn Injuries and Treatment and What’s New for AHA – Updates for CPR, PALS and ALCS.

There also will be an airway management lab during lunch.

This training will be presented by six speakers. This event will give EMS personnel 5.50 hours of continuing education credits.

The seminar will offer breakfast and lunch sponsored by the department. Class size is limited to 75 participants. There is no charge for the seminar as only accept donations are accepted.

Door prizes will be given out at the end of the seminar.

LaRue would like to commend Lima Memorial Health System for its support of this event. The Hardin County Community Foundation provided a grant which helps offset the cost of this seminar for Hardin County EMS providers and the surrounding communities.
