Hardin County News by Hardin County People
On Thursday, June 28 the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life hosted a dinner in honor of cancer survivors and caregivers at Simon Kenton School’s gymnasium. More than 50 local survivors and their caregivers were in attendance as they celebrated the victories they’ve had along their cancer journey.
A free meal was provided to everyone in attendance, and was provided by Jolene’s Cozy Café, the Plaza Inn, and the Kroger Company. The Kenton Wal Mart was on hand to take special pictures of survivors, which will be printed and handed out to the survivors during the Relay For Life event on July 20-21 at the Hardin County Fairgrounds.
The Survivorship Committee who worked hard to plan and organize this dinner would like to give a special thank-you to the sponsors for helping make the dinner possible. The committee also wishes to thank everyone who attended this dinner, which represented a simple way to let each survivor know they are appreciated and are commend on the journey they have been or are going through.
Hardin County’s Relay For Life will be held at the Hardin County Fairgrounds on July 20. The survivor lap begins at 6 p.m. and runs for 18 hours. The public is welcome.
