So – for being honest and upfront, for choosing to serve our country, she is punished? on the fair’s “veterans day”?! She finished her project as required. Old rules sometimes need tweaked… it is called an amendment and should be adopted for military and hospitalization! PJS

WOW,, this is the respect that our fair board shows young people that are currently serving their country?? I am at a total loss for words over this one. We change rules all the time. There are exceptions everywhere in our life. This is a young woman who has chose to defend this great nation that we live in, and defend it with her life if necessary. To say thank you, our fair board has chose to follow the rule rather than take the time to sit with her father and discuss changing the rule. Wouldn’t this be a very good reason to change this rule. How old is this rule? Did we know everything that could possibly go wrong when this rule was written? Is it possible to change the rule? We can add amendments to our constitution, but for some reason, we can not change a rule from the Hardin County Fair??? Come on now. How will Ashton take the news when she finds out after boot camp?
If it were one of your children that was in boot camp, how fast would you work to get the rule changed. If Ashton’s hogs are not allowed to be shown, and ran through the auction, it will be a black eye on our fair that can not be removed.
