COLUMBUS — State Senator Cliff Hite, R–Findlay, has been named the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture.
During the previous legislative session, Hite chaired the Senate Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Committee, a panel that has been modified as part of the committee restructuring of the 130th General Assembly.
“Agriculture employs one out of every seven Ohioans and contributes more than $105 billion to our state’s economy,” said Hite, whose district includes Hardin County. “I am honored to be entrusted with the great responsibility of directing important policy for Ohio’s number one industry and especially for my district, where agriculture plays such a vital role.”
In addition to his chairmanship, Hite will also serve as the Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education.
“As a former teacher and coach, I feel that providing a quality, affordable education to all Ohioans is at the very core of our responsibility as leaders,” added Hite.
In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Hite will serve as a member the Senate Energy and Natural Resources, Public Utilities, Insurance and Financial Institutions, and Ways and Means committees and the Finance Subcommittee on Education.
