A memorial service for Jon Arden Mabrey will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020 at the Kenton Moose with military rites being conducted by Amvets Post 1994.
Friends may call two hours prior to services. A meal and further fellowship will follow the services.
He died unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital Emergency Room in Kenton.
He was born on May 30, 1961 in Kenton to the late James Sr. and Joann (Sryock) Mabrey. On Dec. 23, 1998 he married Lori Slack and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are a son, Josh (Natalie) Smith of Tempe, Arizona; two sisters, Janet Zachariah-Elliott of Franklin and Stephanie Smith of Tempe; a brother, Jeff Mabrey of Columbus; two grandchildren, Levi and Mia; his second mother, Martha Wagner of Tempe; his father-in-law, Reggie Slack of Kenton and a brother-in-law, Rick Slack.
He was preceded in death by a brother. Jim Mabrey Jr. and his mother-in-law, Brenda Slack.
As a U.S. Air Force veteran, Jon had a love for airplanes and his country. He was formerly employed by World Airways as an aircraft mechanic. This job took him all over the world, which fed his passion for travel.
He had currently been employed by Lowes in its distribution center in Findlay.
Jon’s true passion was riding his motorcycle, which had to be a Harley. He would ride as often as he could, going on many trips with his wife and participating in many biker benefits.
Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at pricefh.net.
