Kentonite faces 7 years in prison after drug-related conviction

A drug-related conviction in Hardin County Common Pleas Court resulted in a Kenton man being sent to prison for a total of more than seven years.
According to court records from Prosecutor Brad Bailey’s office, Jerry Lee Ruth, 14093 Harris St., Trailer 31, Kenton, was found guilty of possession of heroin and tampering with evidence. Judge William Hart sentenced Ruth to 11 months in jail on the possession count and fined him $50. Hart also sent Ruth to prison for another 17 months on the attempted tampering charge and fined him $50 again.
The conviction was a violation of his community control terms from a 2005 case in which Ruth was found guilty of burglary with a firearms specification, safecracking, grand theft of firearms, two counts of tampering with evidence and breaking and entering, and vandalism.
Hart ordered a total of five years be served on the 2005 case for a total of seven years and four months in prison.
In other recent cases, Margaret Elizabeth Holbrook, 725 Vernon St., Kenton, was sent to prison for a total of 57 months after she was found guilty of trespassing in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, two counts of theft, and three counts of forgery. She was also fined at total of $300. The charges were from three separate cases.
Holbrook was ordered to pay restitution to Carter Lumber Co. in the amount of $78.10 and to Holbrook Construction in the amount of $700. The restitution in each case was from forged checks.
Alyssa M. Burchiel, 120 S. Buckeye St., Dunkirk, was found guilty of trafficking in counterfeit controlled substances and fined $100. She was also placed on community control for one year and ordered to perform 40 hours of community service.
