Hardin County residents will have two ways to celebrate the Fourth of July this year.

There are the traditional activities at the Hardin County Fairgrounds in Kenton or a concert by the Lima Symphony Orchestra at Ohio Northern University in Ada.

Freedom Celebration 2015 at the fairgrounds kicks off with a car show, with sign in beginning at 3 p.m.

The annual parade will form at 3 p.m. and move out from the fairgrounds at 4 p.m. en route to downtown Kenton. It will be led by antique tractors. Walkers are to line up at Liberty National Bank at 3 p.m. and join the parade when it arrives downtown.

A children’s pedal tractor pull will begin at 7 p.m. in the shelter house.

There will be a meal sponsored by Pomona Grange starting at 5 p.m. and many other food concessions on the grounds. A 50/50 raffle will run from 4 to 9 p.m.

The Bumper to Bumper Truck Tag was canceled.

The evening will conclude with fireworks at 10 p.m.

At ONU, patriotic classics, American standards and popular movie and Broadway tunes will highlight the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s Fourth of July “Patriotic Pops” celebration. The concert, which begins at 7 p.m., is free and open to the public.

The concert will take place on the sculpture mall east of McIntosh Center between Presser and Weber halls.

Attendees are encouraged to come early, bring lawn chairs, blankets and their favorite picnic foods, and enjoy an evening of music with family, friends and neighbors on the ONU campus. If inclement weather occurs, the event will be held in King Horn Center.
