Phil Dirt and the Dozers to perform at the fair

An estimated 7,717 people visited the Hardin County Fair on Thursday, up from 3,825 a year ago. The paid gate was 1,378 compared to 683 last year.
The free harness racing attracted 233 in the afternoon and 436 in the evening. Both events were canceled a year ago because of the wet grounds.
At the fair tonight, Phil Dirt and the Dozers will be performing classic rock ‘n roll songs. The concert begins at 8 p.m. in the grandstand.
Friday, Sept. 7
7 p.m. – Winemaking presentation, community building
8 p.m. – Phil Dirt and the Dozers, grandstand
10 p.m. – Exhibit buildings and rides close
Saturday, Sept. 8
7:30 a.m. – Gates open
8 a.m. – Junior Fair Livestock Sale, arena
9 a.m. – Dog Show, shelterhouse; Open Class Horse and Pony Show, horse arena
10 a.m. – Exhibit buildings open
10:30 a.m. – Special Pie Day judging, arts and crafts building; Conservation Contest, community building
Noon – Rides open
1 p.m. – Homemaker Demonstrations, community building
7 p.m. – Sheep Lead Contest, arena; 3D Demolition Derby, grandstand
8 p.m. – Showman of Showmen and Show Arena Contest, arena
10 p.m. – Exhibit buildings and rides close
