Swing Choir Show set at fairgrounds tonight

Rain helped to hold down the crowd at the Hardin County Fair on opening day Tuesday.
Estimated total attendance was 5,258, down from 7,532 a year ago. The paid gate was 939, off from last year’s 1,345.
The High School Band Show attracted 830 people compared to 1,031 the previous year.
Tonight the fairgrounds should be swinging with the High School Swing Choir Show at 7 p.m. in the grandstands, followed by the Society Singers.
Wednesday, Sept. 5
5 p.m. – Antique judging, arts and crafts building
6 p.m. – Junior Fair Sheep Showmanship and Junior Fair Market Lamb Show, arena
7 p.m. – Swing Choir Show and Society Singers, grandstand
10 p.m. – Exhibit buildings and rides close
Thursday, Sept. 6
7:30 a.m. – Gates open
8 a.m. – Junior Fair Dairy Feeder Show, arena
9 a.m. – Junior Fair Poultry Show, poultry area
10 a.m. – Exhibit buildings open
11 a.m. – Homemakers Dish Day, community building
Noon – Rides open
12:30 p.m. – Harness racing, grandstand; Riverdale Junior High Band, entertainment shelterhouse
1 p.m. – Riverdale Sixth Grade Musicals, entertainment shelterhouse; Homemaker Demonstrations, community building; Junior Fair Born and Raised in Hardin County Market Lamb show, arena
3 p.m. – Junior Fair Breed and Beef Feeders Show, arena
4:30 p.m., Children’s rabbit showmanship followed by Open Class Rabbit Show, rabbit area
6:30 p.m., Harness racing, grandstand
7 p.m., Junior Fair Steer Show, arena
10 p.m. – Exhibit buildings and rides close
