A full day of fun for the entire family is promised during the 2013 Freedom Celebration to be held at the Hardin County Fairgrounds on Thursday.
The festivities begin at noon with a car show. Sign-in is at 11 a.m. and trophies and door prizes will be awarded at 3:30 p.m.
A bumper to bumper truck tug will be held in the grandstand at noon.
The Hardin County Tractor Pullers are hosting the fourth annual Hardin County Fireworks Fund Truck and Tractor Pull. The first session will begin at 3 p.m. with the second session slated for 6:30 p.m. Admission is $6 with children 12 and under admitted for free.
The Independence Day parade will begin at 4 p.m. from the parking lot behind Liberty National Bank in Kenton. Participants will travel north on Main Street to the Hardin County Courthouse, take Columbus Street west one block and turn south on U.S. 68 (South Detroit Street) to the fairgrounds.
A chicken and pork chop barbecue sponsored by Pomona Grange will begin at 5 p.m.
A firecracker golf cart pull will take place at 5 p.m. in front of the grandstand and a children’s pedal tractor pull will be held in the shelter house at 7 p.m.
There also will be an antique tractor display.
The day will conclude with the fireworks display at 10 p.m.
