age 78, Wharton
Services for Doris I. Shepherd will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Clark Shields Funeral Home in Forest by the Rev. Joe Searfoss. Burial will be in the Wharton Richland Union Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
She died at 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at her home.
She was born May 8, 1934 to Dan and June “Dolly” (Watson) Fraley. On Aug. 1, 1953, she married Jewel E. Shepherd and he preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Dan Shepherd of Wharton and Jerry (Sharlene) Shepherd of Richwood; three daughters, Sharon (Gary) Schmuck of Forest, Glenda (Tracy) Rush of Leigh Acres, Fla. and Marie (Michael) Baumlein of Findlay; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bill Fraley of Kenton, Carl (Pat) Fraley of McGuffey and James Fraley of Findlay; three sisters, Joy (Wayne) Rush of Bowling Green, Shirley England of Kenton and Susan (Steve Spearman) Fraley of Boulder City, Nev.
A sister and two brothers preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and an avid garage sale shopper.
She enjoyed quilting and sewing, especially sewing her daughters wedding dresses and baby quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
