Janet Garrison
age 64, Huntsville
Services for Janet L. Garrison will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Myron Van Horn Chapel of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview by Pastor Jim Gardner. Burial will be at a later date in the Price Cemetry in LaRue.
Friends may call to hours prior to the service.
She died Friday, July 13, 2012 at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Aug. 1, 1947 in Kenton to Otis M. and Mary L. Sherwood Kinikin. On May 11, 1968, she married Richard Garrison and they later divorced. He survives in Lakeview.
Also surviving are a son, Stephen M. Garrison of Bellefontaine and his fiancé Nikki Dickinson; four grandchildren, Kaleigh Dawn Garrison of Indian Lake, Stephen Edwin Garrison of West Liberty, Morgan Nicole Garrison and Skylar Micheal Garrison, both of Bellefontaine; a great-granddaughter, Ivy Leigh Moon Garrison; a sister, Terri (Wade) Bowen of Columbus; a brother, Dennis (Betty) Kinikin of Richwood; a sister-in-law, Peggy Kinikin of Byhalia and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Dana, Jim and Kenny Kinikin; a sister, Joy Kinikin and a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Garrison.
Janet was an Avon representative for more than 30 years and received numerous awards. She also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was a member of Indian Lake Community Church, Janet also was a member of the Doyle R. Miller AmVets Post #39 and Indian Lake Eagles #3615.
She was active in the Outreach Center, Russells Points and the Young At Heart Senior Center in Lakeview, where she had been treasurer. She most recently attended the Byhalia Friends Church.
She enjoyed reading and playing pool.
