He was born June 10, 1961 in Kenton and was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Mona (Reed) Grubbs.

A 1980 graduate of Riverdale High School, Randy worked  his way through high school at Continental Hose in Wharton. He moved onto Cooper Tire and Rubber where he worked in many phases of the tire building process. He retired in 2017 after 36 plus years of service. The working world brought he and his future wife, Nancy J. Boden, together. They were married February 17, 1980 and together had three daughters: Emily (Josh) Hoffman and Sally (Gilbert) McDill both of Wharton and Abby (Jayson) Pfeiffer of Mt. Blanchard. His four grandchildren: Caleb, Aiden and Madelyn Hoffman and Oakley Pfeiffer were the light of his life. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play ball and holding his granddaughters. They will forever remember his love and ability to tease them every chance he had. There will always be a place in Randy’s heart for his siblings: Patrick (Gayle) O’Brien of Fort Myers, FL, Ronald (Ruby) Grubbs and Mary (John Hill) Grubbs both of Forest.

Randy loved hunting, especially deer, fishing and watching Ohio State football, actually any football on TV. His breakfast group, the Cooper Tire Work Buddies, gave him many memories of laughter.

Randy gave back to the Wharton community many ways, but he took great pride in serving the Wharton-Richland Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years. He hung up his helmet in 2018. He was a member of Wharton United Methodist Church in Wharton.
