Services for Estella C. Hites will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Schindewolf Stevens Stout Funeral Home, Kenton, by the Revs. Scott Johnson and William Koppert. Burial will be in Fairview McDonald Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-7 p.m. today.
She died at 4:05 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Hardin Hills Health Center, Kenton.
She was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Foraker to Frank E. and Eva Mae (Gallant) Black Sr. On May 13, 1944, in Kenton she married Raymond Charles Hites who died July 16, 1996.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Raymond Hites of Mount Victory and Steven Douglas (Brenda) Hites of Kenton; a daughter, Barbara Jeanne (Bill Newman) Scott of Kenton; grandchildren, Wendy (Kenneth) Johnson of Georgia, Cindy (Mike) Wolford of Marion, Richard (Sharon) Chapman of Marion, Michael Hites Jr. of Kenton, Alison (Andy) Cummings of Kenton, Alex Scott of Dublin and Jackie (Josh McCarthy) Bostater of Kenton, Heather Lynn Hites of Findlay and Vickie and Lisa Hites; great-grandchildren, Justin Hites, Sidney and Kaden Wolford, Bryce and Emily Johnson, Michael and Bryan Hites, Richie and Billy Chapman, Liberty, Lincoln and Brendan Cummings; brothers-in-law, Edwin (Pat) Hites of Tecumseh, Mich., and Glen (Elinor) Hites of Upper Sandusky; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hites of Marysville, Rosella Black, Katherine Johnson and Ann Berger, all of Kenton.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Nettie Rodenberger and Helen Scott; brothers, Frank E. Black Jr., John Richard Black, Ernie Black and infant brother Robert Black.
She worked at North Electric in Kenton and retired from Whirlpool Corp. Findlay Division.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Kenton, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonel, Hardin Co. Humane Society, Hardin Co. Armory, Hardin Co. Genealogy Society and a proud member of the Hardin County Democratic Women.
She was awarded the Community Service Award in 2003. She organized Operation Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom. She was a former vice president of AIW Local 418 (North Electric) and she was instrumental in working to save the Hardin County Armory.
She was a member of the 2000 Hardin Leadership class at the age of 73.
Estella could play the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, organ and keyboard. No one could fill her shoes in the lost art of yodeling.
She loved the Ohio State Buckeye, being active in the community, being faithful to God and her country, and life. She was a good role model for her family who love her very much.
Stella would like you to be comfortable at visitation and wear OSU clothes.

There will be no services or visitation for Gregory N. Collins. Burial will be at a later date at the Wolf Creek Cemetery.
He died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at the Liberty West Nursing Center of Toledo.
He was born April 1, 1954, in Kenton to Herbert and Helen (Sutherland) Collins.
Surviving are two sisters, Janet D. Kelly of Kenton and Gloria Jean (Richard) Rous of Melrose, Fla.; a brother, Douglas M. Collins of Toledo, aunts, uncles, six nephews, one niece, several great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
The Price Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

He died at 10:28 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima as the result of a fall from his barn on Feb. 25.

Services for Janis Jones will be 1 p.m. today at Price Funeral Home in Kenton by Pastor James Short. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
She died 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born Aug. 17, 1944, in Kenton to Russell and Mae (Pugh) Highland. On June 13, 1961, she married Robert White and they divorced. On Nov. 2, 1975, she married Steven W. Jones and he preceded her in death on April 27, 2007.
Surviving are three sons, Jeff (Jackie) White of Naperville, Ill., Chris White of Streetsboro and JP (Heather) White of Kenton; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Dorma Crates and Linda (Kenny) Rhoades, both of Findlay; a mother-in-law, Evelyn Jones of Belle Center; two sisters-in-law, Cindy (Keith) Lange of Kenton and Susan Jones of Bellefontaine; a brother-in-law, Kevin (Marcia) Jones of Oberlin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Ralph Jones.
She worked for BKP and C.E.T.A.
She enjoyed dancing, camping, fishing and crocheting. She was loved by all her friends at Kenton Nursing and Rehab Center.
Memorials may be made to Hardin County Hospice.

She died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
She was born March 26, 1932, in Bellefontaine to Hugh and Josephine (Oates) Bowman. On May 29, 1955, she married Richard Sponsler and he survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Marilyn Heilman of Jacksonville, Fla., and Yvonne Cade of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Janice (Scotty) Methven of Murrieta, Calif.
She was a retired school nurse from Kenton City Schools. She previously worked at Kenton Care Center, Lima Memorial Hospital and St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
A graduate of the Whitecross School of Nursing in 1953, she was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Belle Center and the Order of Eastern Star in Bellefontaine.
Memorials may be made to Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Fund.

Services for Betty J. Wetherill will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Clark Shields Funeral Home, Forest by the Rev. John Musgrave and Lay Pastor Tim Garmon. Burial will be in the Hueston Cemetery, Forest.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
She died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
She was born Nov. 21, 1920, in Jackson Township, Hardin County to Ralph and Hazel (Musgrave) Derringer. They are both deceased. Also deceased is an stepmother, Marie (Packer) Derringer. On Oct. 12, 1940, she married Delmar A. Wetherill and he died Dec. 7, 1979.
Surviving are two sons, Harold E. (Barbara) Wetherill of Utica and Royce C. (Marjorie) Wetherill of Forest; a daughter, Sharon A. (Leonard) Shaw of Troy; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William Derringer, Louis Derringer and Robert Derringer, and a sister, Lucille Musgrave.
She graduated from Forest High School in 1938 where she was the salutatorian of her class. She was a lifetime member of the former Union Chapel Church and has been attending Patterson United Methodist Church.
She was a former pianist and Sunday school teacher. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers, cooking and crocheting.
She also enjoyed her pet dog "Holly," passing time setting in her swing, doing her own lawn work, listening to gospel music, reading, especially her Bible, doing devotions, and sharing time with her family.
Memorials may be made to Hardin County Hospice or the Hardin County Cancer Society in care of the Clark Shields Funeral Home, 310 S. Patterson St., Forest, OH 45843.
