Mervin L. Sr., 79
Rural Findlay

Services for Mervin L. Alexander Sr. will be 11 a.m. Friday at Crates Funeral Home, Arlington by Pastor Harry W. Scott. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery, with full military honors by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
He died Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Largo Medical Center, Largo, Fla.
He was born Dec. 8, 1928, in Findlay to the late Edward and Velma (Rodabaugh) Alexander. He married Dorotha B. Wickham on May 29, 1949, and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Mervin L. (Nancy E.) Alexander Jr. of Findlay and Bruce L. (Jonna L.) Alexander of rural Findlay; a daughter, Linda S. (Stephen H.) Rankey of Findlay; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was a lifelong farmer and helped to organize the Hancock County Cattle Feeders Association in the early 1950s.
He served in the U.S. Army with the occupation force in Japan from 1946 to 1948.
He was an original builder and co-owner of the Johnny Appleseed Bowling Lanes and Restaurant and the Sycamore Springs Golf Course, both of Arlington. He was a member of the local American Legion, VFW, Amvets and Elks, as well as a member of the Arlington United Methodist Church since 1944.
Memorials may be made to the church or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.

Graveside services for Voughn E. Hart will be 11 a.m. Monday at the VA Cemetery in Dayton.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima.
He died at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 4, 1947, in Columbus to Cletus V. and Ivolene (Brown) Hart. On March 4, 1978 he married Peggy Harris in Russells Point and she survives in Lima.
Also surviving are two daughters, Anna and Tonya Hart of Oklahoma; mother, Ivolene (Willy) Hicks-Keykens of Sidney; sister, Beth (Hart) Collins of Lakeview; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hart of Texas; stepbrother, Leslie Stratford of England; two grandchildren, Johnathan and Jasmine Hart of Oklahoma and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cletus V. Hart; a brother, Chris S. Hart; grandparents, David and Zelma Brown and Russell and Irene Hart; step-father, Lawrence Hicks and several aunts and uncles.
He was a member of the United States Marines from Dec. 8, 1964, to Dec. 18, 1974. He received the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Cross of Galantry. He also was a Vietnam vet.
He was a member of the VFW and a life member of the county’s American Legion, Orioles Nest, Chained Eagle and was a fan of NASCAR.
He worked are several area companies including, C.H. Heist Corp., Freightliner and A.A.P.

Services for Robert E. Parmelee will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bringman Clark Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky, by the Rev. Roy Howell. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, McCuthenville.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday.
He died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2008, at his residence
He was born April 26, 1925, in Lackawanna, Pa., to Frank Richard and Francis H. (Dixon) Parmelee. He married Vesta J. Fritz on June 19, 1954, in New Bremen and she preceded him in death on March 24, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Christian G. (Jessica) Parmelee of Cumming, Ga., and Clayton L. Parmelee of Hermosa Beach, Calif.; a sister, Alice (Don) Goodall of Scranton, Pa.; a brother, Frank Parmelee of Cuyahoga Falls and a brother-in-law, Don Ross of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Ross.
He served on a United States Navy destroyer in World War II, participating in invasions of Normandy, Southern France and Okinawa.
He received degrees from Heidelberg College (AB 1950) and Harvard (MBA 1958).
Following packaging industry jobs from salesman to vice president, career positions included directing PMM and Co.'s New York Region's Marketing and Economic Consulting Services (now KPMG), and SVP and CMO for a group of Control Data/CCC Insurance and Financial Services companies.
He will be inducted in to the Barberton Schools' Academic/Career Hall of Fame in April.

Services for Richard R. Stager will be at a later date at the Dunkirk Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
He died at 8:50 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, at the Anne Grady Center in Holland, Ohio.
He was born Feb. 25, 1951, in Dunkirk to Donald and Marilyn (Holmes) Stager and they both survive in Dunkirk.
Also surviving is a sister, Carolyn (Ron) Logan of Dunkirk.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother.
Memorials may be made to Harco Industries.
