Services for Robert W. Kessler will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church in Plymouth by the Rev. Leonard Shatkus. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth.
He died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Hillside Acres Nursing Home, Willard.
He was born Oct. 30, 1922, to Charles and Ida (Leonhart) Kessler.
Surviving are a son, Arden (Penny) Kessler of Shelby; a daughter, Janaan (Donald) Sorgen of Kenton and three grandchildren, Abbie and Wallace Tackett of Shelby and Sarah Kessler of Mansfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Steele) Kessler; five brothers, Cloyd, Ray, Arthur, Marvin and Merton Kessler and three sisters, Lucille Kessler, Inez Hass and Viola Frank.
He was formerly employed at General Motors of Mansfield and was a life member of the Plymouth American Legion 447. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving on the USS Millicoma AO-73.

Graveside services for Billy J. Mercer will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mercer/Rowe Cemetery in Chesapeake.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg, Ky.
He died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2008, in West Virginia.
He was born March 26, 1950, to William and Christine (Rowe) Mercer.
He is surviving by several brothers and sisters; one child, two step-children and three grandchildren.
He was a general laborer.

Services for Margie R. Thompson will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine by the Rev. William Zeller. Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
She died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at her home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1926, in Bellefontaine to Scott R. and Doris C. (Williams) Young. On April 30, 1945, she married Harold Thompson in Covington, Ky., and he survives in Bellefontaine.
Also surviving are three daughters, Linda (Larry) Phillips of Kenton, Marianne (Lonnie) Elmore of Marysville and Jodi (James) Grannison of Bellefontaine; a son, Gary (Peggy) Thompson of Bellefontaine; 10 grandchildren, Lori (Scott) Wilson, Diane (Brian) Gray, Brian (Tricia) Phillips, Todd (April) Phillips, Kim (Tom) Fown, Angie (Kenny) Lambert, Matt Elmore, Greg Thompson, Scott Thompson and Katy (Lucas) Gantz; 22 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Jeff Coy and many close relatives.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Sue Thompson; three sisters, Gaynelle Albert, Wanda Painter and Ruth Grant and a brother, Roland Young.
She was a devoted homemaker and also worked for Thompson Electric for a few years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bellefontaine and the Logan County Friendly Senior Center.
She enjoyed cooking, traveling and music. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 201 N. Main St., Bellefontaine or the Logan County Cancer Society, 122 N. Main St., Bellefontaine.
