Memorial services for Joan K. Cox will be 2 p.m. Monday at Price Funeral Home in Kenton.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
She died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at her home.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1948, in Kenton to James W. and Artie M. (Crawford) Ansley. On Dec. 17, 1973, she married Gerald Cox and he survives in Edison.
Also surviving are a daughter, Stacey R. Cox of Columbus; a son, Nathan G. Cox of Edison; a sister, Jean Ann Hamilton of Lima; a sister-in-law, Annette Ansley; four nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James G. Ansley and a sister, Jane Dell Ansley.
She was a homemaker and taught elementary school in the 1970s in Marion.
She was a 1966 graduate of Kenton High School and a 1970 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor of arts degree.
She enjoyed being at home with her family. She was a very honest person with a good sense of humor. She was an animal lover and enjoyed the company of her dog, Tasha and her cats, Brandi, Macy, Jake and Meeko.
She also enjoyed listening to talk radio shows and Ray Charles music.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of the donor's choice.
