Services for Russell “Rutt” Castle will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kenton by Pastor Don Holbrook. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-7 p.m. today at Schindewolf Stevens Stout Funeral Home in Kenton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
He died at 6:35 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 12, 1946, in Hardin County to Franzel and Virgie (Prater) Castle. On April 8, 1989, he married Loretta Hampton and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kevin Castle and Keith (Kassie) Hurt, both of Kenton; four daughters, Kathy (Shawn) Allen of Ostrander, Kim Scott (Roger Frazier) of Kenton, Kim (Jeff) Butcher of Forest and Karin Ward (Tim Bennington) of Iron City, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; four brothers, Bill Stephens of Alger, James (Vickie) Castle of Foraker, Frank (Becky) Castle of Harrod and Terry (Barb) Castle of Ada and nine sisters, Joyce (Howard) Stanley, Mable Wright, Linda (Butch) LaRue and Charlene (Doug) Karfit, all of Ada, Thelma (Terry) Smith of Belle Center, Mary (Gary) Simon of Alger, Sadie (Alonzo) Allen of Dola and Lisa Castle (Shannon Vogleman) and Betty Warmbrod, both of Kenton.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenny and a brother, Albert.
He retired from Clark Equipment in Lima.
He was an avid bass fisherman. He loved his family and God.
