Services for Georgia L. Cordle will be 11 a.m. Monday at Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine by Pastor Russell William Cordle (grandson). Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Saturday and one hour prior to services Monday.
She died at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Kenton.
She was born in Glade Springs, Va. on Feb. 23, 1924, to Charles F. and Nancy Elizabeth (Moore) Goodman. On Sept. 2, 1939, she married Henry W. Cordle in Tazwell County, Va., and after 48 years of marriage he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1987.
Surviving are two sons, Ernest W. Cordle of Russells Point and Jeffrey A. Cordle of Bee Branch, Ark.; seven daughters, Barbara J. (Clarence) Beaudry of Bee Branch, Ark., JoAnn Cordle of Bee Branch Ark., Nancy C. (Ronald) Justice of Huntsville, Tommie H. Blackburn of Russells Point, Lillian L. (Thomas) Baumgarten of Toma, Wis., Marsha L. (Tim) Pickl of Heartland, Wis., and Pamela J. (Terry) Frost of Kenton; two sisters, Gladys Robinette of Abington, Va., and Mary Ellen Pruitt of Doran, Va.; a sister-in-law, Unice White of DeGraff; 27 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and special friend of the family, Teresa Jackson of Russells Point.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a son-in-law, Winfield Blackburn.
She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine and while living in Wisconsin she worked at a factory called Diddy Wash folding baby diapers.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, gardening, sewing and spending time with her family. She had a positive influence on everyone she met. She was a very giving, loving person that saw the best in everyone. Her love for the Lord helped her bravely face the challenge of the lengthy illness with assurance of a heavenly home.

Memorials may be given to Universal Hospice, Wilson Hospice and Logan County Cancer Society.
The family will be honoring Georgia’s memory with a luncheon in the Grange Building at the Logan County Fairgrounds immediately after the services.
