Services for Harold C. Thompson will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Bellefontaine by the Rev. William Zeller. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine.
He died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 27, 1926, to Howard and Jessie (Goldsberry) Thompson in Bellefontaine. On April 30, 1945, he married Margie R. Young in Covington, Ky. She died March 15, 2008.
Surviving are a son, Gary (Peggy) Thompson of Bellefontaine; three daughters, Linda (Larry) Phillips of Kenton, Marianne (Lonnie) Elmore of Marysville and Jodi (James) Grannison of Bellefontaine; 10 grandchildren, Lori (Scott) Wilson, Diane (Brian) Gray, Brian (Tricia) Phillips, Todd (April) Phillips, Kim (Tom) Fown, Angie (Kenny) Lambert, Matt Elmore, Greg Thompson, Scott Thompson and Katy (Lucas) Gantz; 22 great-grandchildren and a special family friend, Jeff Coy.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Sue Thompson and three sisters, Merita Wilt, Dorothy Davie and Waneta Gilbert.
He founded Thompson Electric in 1956.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a graduate of the 1944 Zanesfield High School and belonged to the Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge 209 and Bellefontaine Kiwanis Club.
He also served on the Mary Rutan Hospital Board and was a former president of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, Sertoma club and recently a board member of the Logan County Senior Center.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church and the American Diabetes Association.

Services for Mary Frances Zimmerman will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home in Kenton by Pastor Jeff Waite. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where a Latham Chapter O.E.S. service will be held at 5 p.m.
She died at 6:46 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Hardin Hills Health Center in Kenton.
She was born March 23, 1922, in West Virginia to Charles and Clarabelle (Bivens) Hobbs. On Nov. 26, 1939, she married Charles E. Zimmerman and he died July 28, 1974.
Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Ann (Joe) Cook of Kenton; a son, Charles E. (Lynda) Zimmerman of Lufkin, Texas; five grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Isaac "Pete" Hobbs and Lawrence Hobbs, both of Virginia and a sister, Katie Crookshanks of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
She retired from Essex Wire in Kenton.
She was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women and a past president.
She was a past officer of the Lima District United Methodist Women, member of Latham Chapter 364 O.E.S. and held many offices including past Matron and was district Grand Matron.
She was a loving mother and loved her grandchildren dearly.
