Services for Richard L. “Dick” McQuown will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Schindewolf Stevens Stout Funeral Home in Kenton by the Rev. Mark Bishop. Burial will be in the Wolf Creek Cemetery.
Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Monday.
He died at 2:32 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.
He was born March 31, 1942 in Kenton to Richard and Fern (Wuethrich) McQuown. On Aug. 3, 1963 he married Pamela Sue Ulrich and she survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Shannon Rae Hodge of Bellefontaine; a son, Todd Allen (Jennifer) McQuown of Forest City, Iowa; three granddaughters, Ashley Sue Hodge of Bellefontaine and Kelsey Elizabeth, Carly Jo and Callie Sue McQuown, all of Forest City, Iowa; four brothers, Mike (Sharon) McQuown of Upper Sandusky, Jerry (Diana) McQuown of Richwood, Rod (Sue) McQuown of LaRue and Jeffrey McQuown of Kenton; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Waland McQuown.
He was retired from Sutphen Corp. in 2004.
He graduated from Kenton High School in 1960 and was a member of the West Liberty Lions Club and in 2003 was named the Melvin Jones Fellow for his dedication to making the world a better place through humanitarian services.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed taking vacations with his family.
