A Mass of Christian Burial for Rose Marie Middleton will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Bright Road in Findlay, with Father Shaji Thomas celebrant. Burial will follow in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
She died at 9:05 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Martha (Sevi) and George Sauter on July 19, 1920. She married M.H. (Red) Middleton on Jan. 4, 1942 and he preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1977.
Surviving are four sons, James of Findlay, David (Sue) of New Riegel, John (Carol) of Findlay and George (Janet) of Jenera; four daughters, Judith (Marvin) Sallee of Kenton, Martha (Kenneth) Barker of Alger, Carolyn Gregg of Findlay and Ginny (Stacy) Bishop of Findlay; 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Rose was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman, Edward, Ernest and Eugene; a sister, Jeanette Banks; a daughter-in-law, Jeannie and a grandson, Matthew Middleton.
Rose was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Findlay. She was treasurer of the 55 Plus Club of St. Michael’s and a volunteer for Blanchard Valley Hospital.
She enjoyed reading, solving word puzzles, and watching sports. Her greatest joy though was spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Rose “fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith.”
Memorials may be made to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church or Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
