Velma Dean

Velma Rosezalia Dean died Friday, April 13, 2012.
Per Velma wishes, a Memorial Celebration and potluck will be held on Sunday, April 29 at the Veteran’s Memorial Golf Course, 15906 St. Rt. 309 in Kenton. Celebration will begin at 1 p.m. and continue throughout the afternoon.
She was born May 28, 1937. She married Diz LeRoy Dean on May 3, 1958 and her husband of 54 years survives.
Also surviving are her children, Daniel Dean (Fran), Linda Dean Baker (Dan), Cynthia Dean Johnson (Robin), Karen Dean Archambault (Roger) and Donald Dean; a brother, Bernard Miller and a sister, Susie Miller Peters. Velma was blessed with seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
She was an active member of the Church of God Toledo. She loved her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and was an avid reader. Velma loved animals of all kinds, but was especially passionate about her cats.
Donations can be made to Seven’s Heaven Wildlife in Velma Dean’s name. They rescue orphaned wildlife and assist in finding forever homes for cats, dogs, and other domestic and exotic animals. Address to send donations is: 6027 S 550 E, Pierceton, IN 46562.
