Police Reports: August 21, 2012

Kenton police
Allan R. Parker, 709 Decatur St., was arrested on a warrant from the Hardin County Municipal Court.
A 10-year-old male reported that he and a friend were at the east entrance to Espy School when an all black, two-door car pulled up with approximately six older teenage boys in it. One boy, he said, got out and approached him and told him to get in the car with them. At that point, he got on his bike and took off home to tell his mother. The male who got out of the car was described as about 17 years old, wearing black shorts and a yellow Under Armor shirt, clean shaven, blond hair and having a black back pack on.
Morgan Baker, 899 W. Carey St., reported the theft of her son’s bicycle from her residence.
Suspicious activity was reported on West Columbus Street.
Reckless operation of a vehicle was reported on Ohio 309 coming from Lima.
Possible prowlers or someone in a garage was reported in the 600 block of North Cherry Street.
Hardin sheriff
Zane A. Hawkins, Lima, was traveling west on Ohio 309 just east of the intersection with TR 55 when a deer entered the roadway from the north, causing him to swerve to the south to avoid it. He lost control of the vehicle and entered the ditch on the south side of the roadway, proceeded through the ditch and struck a sign for the McGuffey Conservation Club. He continued to spin clockwise and traveled eastbound across TR 55, coming to rest in a grassy area to the south of Ohio 309.
Amanda Stoltz, Jenera, was southbound on CR 105 when an animal entered the roadway from the east. She swerved to miss the animal and lost control of the      vehicle, sliding sideways off the west side of the roadway and coming to rest in the ditch.
Jessica Lawrence, 909 N. McConnell St., Alger, reported the theft of a fireproof safe from her residence.
Cheyenne Flowers, 1227 CR 113, Dunkirk, reported being assaulted while at a baby shower on Aug. 18.
Cleo Z. Deorio, Lima, was eastbound on Ohio 309 slowing in traffic and preparing to turn north onto Ohio 235. Joseph M. Sifrit, Lima, was westbound on Ohio 309. Deorio misjudged the amount of time it would take for her to make turn and turned into the path of Sifrit. Sifrit left the roadway to avoid the vehicle and struck a pole. Deorio was cited for a right-of-way when turning left violation.
A domestic situation was reported from 1242 CR 26, Forest.
Stacie L. Shadley reported that someone broke into her car and stole prescription medication and several music CDs.
