The Beef Show and the Born & Raised Steer Show participants took home awards on Wednesday at the fair.

Caleb DeLong, son of John DeLong and Kristie and Larry Royer, was awarded born and raised champion honors Wednesday for his steer from Butcher Farms. Runner-up in the born and raised steer competition Wednesday was Lane Underwood, son of Luke and Holli Underwood, with his steer from Midway Farm. With him are Dane Jeffers, 2013 Beef Princess Cassie Deckling, father Luke Underwood, and 2013 Queen of Beef Demi Snider. Underwood is a member of the Taylor Creek Lads and Lassies 4-H club.

Senior beef showman

Senior beef showman

Cam Deckling, son of Rob and Traci Deckling, was the senior class winner in Wednesday’s junior beef showmanship at the Hardin County Fair. With him is 2013 Beef Princess Cassie Deckling. Cam Deckling is a member of the Hardin Northern FFA.

Intermediate champ

Taking home first place intermediate beef showmanship honors was Callie Daniels, daughter of Shelley and Brandon Daniels. With her is brother Wyatt Daniels, who won second place in intermediate showmanship. Daniels is a member of the Alger Junior Farmers 4-H club.

Kailey Bailey, a member of the Liberty Bells and Boys and daughter of Jason and Michelle Bailey, placed first in the beginner class of junior beef showmanship Wednesday. With Bailey is 2013 Queen of Beef Demi Snider.

Placing first in senior dairy showmanship Wednesday was Demi Snider, daughter of Dave and DeDe Snider. She is a member of the Lynn Valley Farmers 4-H club.

Intermediate showman

Clint Kitchen, son of Mitzi and Chris Kitchen, was awarded first place in the intermediate division of the dairy showmanship competition Wednesday. With him is 2013 Fair Queen Sarah Heilman. Kitchen is a member of the Hardin County Dairy 4-H club.

Junior champ

Makenzie Bays, daughter of Brian and Holly Bays, was the winner of the junior dairy showmanship competition Wednesday. With her is 2013 Dairy Princess Taylor Weaver. Bays is a member of the Hardin County Dairy 4-H club.
