Craftsmanship and talent brought home awards for entries in the fine arts category at the 2012 Hardin County Fair.

Joe Oman Jr., Dunkirk, won a reserve rosette with his adult dry brush ceramic entry. Linda St. Clair, Kenton, took home a reserve title with her beaded jewelry creation.

Samantha Lowe, Kenton, won a grand prize in the elementary division for the plaque she entered in the fine arts contest. She also won a reserve title with the snowman she tole painted. Julie Zaring, Forest, won a reserve rosette for the beaded jewelry she brought to the fair.

Marshall Benson, Dola, won a reserve championship in the middle school division with his model. Robin Hughes, Kenton, won a grand prize for basket weaving from no kit in the adult division of competition.

Phyllis Hatcher, Kenton, captured the grand and reserve titles in the landscape division of competition in the fine arts department. Her water color (left) was named the reserve senior citizens’ winner, while top honors in the category went to her oil scene.

Shirley Green, Dunkirk, earned a grand ribbon for her entry in basketweaving from a kit. She was awarded grand champion honors for ceramic angels and her bride and groom secured reserve honors in the ceramic contest of the senior citizen’s division.

Vonna Chamberlain-Miller, Mount Victory, earned a reserve championship for her wooden tole painting in the senior citizens division of the fine arts show. Sue Dickinson, Forest, found a grand championship waiting for her in the senior division for the wind chimes she created.

Krystal Allen, Kenton, caught the judge’s attention with a colorful, patriotic chair and took home a grand championship in the Americana division of the fine arts contest.

Birdie Mary Cox, Kenton, was a reserve prize winner in the professional tole painting competition in fine arts with her pillow.

A local farm was featured in Dennis Copp’s water color. His entry was part of the Hardin County subject division and won a grand championship.
