Chris Koelsch (right) of Alger became the newest firefighter with the Kenton Fire Department when he was hired on June 28.

Greeting Koelsch is Chief Russ Blue.

A native of Sandusky and recently of Columbus, Koelsch previously spent two years in the aeronautical engineering program at The Ohio State University and four years in the United States Marine Corps.

His fiancé, Mary Garbett, was recently hired as a veterinarian at the Diamond-M Veterinary Clinic in Kenton.
