Poultry entries fly to championships

The poultry show was held Thursday at the Hardin County fair.

Raina England was named the judges favorite showman in the junior division of Thursday’s poultry show. She is a member of the Ada Junior Farmers and the daughter of Bill and Brandy England. Raina also was the winner of the Caleb Allen Award in the show.

Grant Hites brought a championship home with his pen of three pullets at the poultry show. He is a member of the Hardin Northern FFA and the son of Jeff and Jennifer Hites.

The fancy heavyweight duck entered by Justin England (left) in the poultry show won the grand championship honors at the poultry show. Reserve honors in the same division went to his brother, Levi England. Their parents are Bill and Brandy England.

Not only is Erin Tobin this year’s poultry queen, she also cleaned up at Thursday’s judging contest. She brought home reserve championships for her goose, meat duck, laying hens, pen of pullets and turkey, but she had top honors with her meat duck. Her parents are Sean and Nancy Tobin and she is a member of the Cessna Minutemen.

Caralee Stover was named the champion showman at the senior level in the poultry show of the 2012 Hardin County Fair. She is member of the Ada Barnyard Farmers. Caralee’s parents are Curt and Amy Stover.

Tucker Havelton, 5, was named the peewee showman in the beginner’s division of the poultry show Thursday. His parents are Chad and Jamie Tucker of Ada.

Kelsey Stanfield was named by the judge of the poultry show to be the best beginner showman. She is the daughter of Scott and Diana Stanfield and a member of the Ridgeway Junior Boosters.

Emily Brown, a member of the Positive Attitides 4-H Club, was named the best intermediate showman in the poultry contest. She is the daughter of Amyial and Mike Brown.

Kyle Koehler had the grand champion pen of three meat hens in the 2012 Hardin County Fair poultry show Thursday. He is a member of the Hardin Northern FFA and his parents are Kelvin and Tammy Koehler.

Anna Koehler’s pen of three meat chickens were named the reserve champions at the 2012 poultry show. She is the daughter of Kelvin and Tammy Koehler and Anna is a member of the Blanchard Pleasant Buckeye 4-H club.
